Any last takers? - Various region 1 anime DVDs free to a good home
by Jae - Apprentice Sakurazukamori (sakurazuka_jae)
at March 19th, 2013 (12:33 am)

[Edited again]: All now gone, thanks!

[Edited to add]: Any last takers for the remaining DVDs? Otherwise they're going in the bin at the end of the week.

[Original text] I'm having a bit of a clear-out and have a bunch of anime DVDs which are all NTSC Region 1 that I would like to get rid of. It seems a waste to throw them away, so I'm offering them free to a good home. The titles are:

Saiyuki, #7-12 (Homura storyline)
The Adventures of Mini-Goddess (2 discs, the Belldandy Files and the Gan-chan Files)

Magic Knight Rayearth TV series season 2 (complete box set) Gone!
Generator Gawl perfect collection (complete box set) Gone!
Inu-Yasha #1, "Down the Well"
Knight Hunters/Weiz Kreuz #1, "Dead Ringer"
Tactics #1

Escaflowne movie Gone!

I also have a copy of the non-anime fantasy miniseries The 10th Kingdom, if anyone is interested.

These are all legitimate, licensed copies, just bought from the US (hence the zoning) so you'll definitely need a multi-zone DVD player.

If you're interested in any of these DVDs, please comment. First come, first served, but if you ask for the whole lot and then someone else asks for a specific disc or series I will probably let them have it!

Have any of you drawn manga before?

Hey, I was wondering. Do any of you have any actual experience ever drawing manga? :P

Me and some friends of mine (We're High School Students), were thinking of putting together a group of people like Clamp (xxxHolic, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle) together and drawing a web comic. If you're around our age (16-18) and it Auckland, and interested please contact me for info of the plot and possible characters? :P

Selling off a collection...
by Zeb (asgard)
at October 9th, 2009 (03:57 pm)
tired

current mood: tired

Just preparing to sell off my collection, and was wondering what your thoughts were on the following:

1. Would NZ$10 per manga volume be too much to ask? All these books are in excellent condition (some never read.) Am just concerned because I want to sell series in sets, but if I have say, the first 9 volumes of a series, thats automatically NZ$90, which seems a lot ;_;

I also have a lot of manga in Japanese, from back in the day (we're talking mid-90s here) when it seemed highly unlikely that many titles by the likes of say CLAMP, were ever going to get translated into English. Is there any point trying to sell these?

2. For really HIGH ticket items (like the CLAMP No Kiseki complete set) would there even be a market for it here in NZ?
This was a series of 12 magazines that came with 3 chess pieces each, that was at one point re-printed in English by TokyoPop, but I think stopped printing as boxed sets and only as the figures or magazines once they found they weren't selling much.

Anyway, I bought all the Japanese boxes, AND got all the limited "send away" stuff too.
These included:

Chess board
Magazine Holder
Special poster
Chess piece holder
Special chess pieces that came in the holder

How much this all cost, I couldn't remember... I do remember each one of the magazine sets cost me around NZ$60, so times 12... eek.

Thing is, I haven't opened the chess pieces, and only opened the boxes to get the send away tokens. How much could I possibly expect here in NZ?

3. DVDs I know I am not going to get how much I paid for them, but what sort of prices should I look to be asking for:
boxed sets
single dvds
special tins or sets

4. Special limited edition boxed sets such as the Death Note "Death Box" and a 3x3 Eyes 10th Anniversary Box. How does one remotely begin to find collectors for these? I know Death Note is hugely popular, but yeah... I don't want this set to go to a kid whose going to rip it apart. ~_~

5. Figures, trading cards, calendars, magazines, plushies, gasha, doushinsi... whats the market?

6. HOW does one go about getting the word out that this stuff IS for sale. The small stuff I am happy to throw on TradeMe, but definitely NOT the big stuff.

Figures for sale!
by Edmund Lee (nork22)
at May 6th, 2009 (10:24 pm)

Due to some mishaps I rather not go into, I'm selling off these 3 figures:

They are the Wani Book endorsed Cerberus Project Ikki Tousen figures.
Selling them for $100 each (plus postage), or if you get all 3 of them I'll give them to you for $250 (plus postage).

In a few days, I'll put them up as a set on trademe.
